Dr Craig Gibson - President
Dr Craig Gibson is a paediatric diagnostic and interventional radiologist at the Perth Children’s Hospital, WA, Australia. After training in WA, he completed a dual clinical fellowship in paediatric radiology and paediatric interventional radiology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. Dr Gibson then accepted an appointment as a Consultant Paediatric Interventional Radiologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, UK, before returning to Perth in 2016.
Dr Gibson’s primary areas of interest include neonatal procedures, vascular anomalies, paediatric central vascular access and arterial disease in childhood. His memberships include the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and the Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR).
Dr Derek Roebuck - Secretary
Derek Roebuck is an Australian radiologist who was educated in Tasmania. He worked in Hobart, London, Sydney, Los Angeles and Hong Kong before moving back to London in 1999 to start a permanent interventional radiology service at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. He re-emigrated to Australia in December 2018 to become Professor of Paediatric Radiology at the new Perth Children’s Hospital and the University of Western Australia.
Professor Roebuck’s main medical interests are childhood cancer, paediatric vascular disease, and interventional radiology in the airway.
Dr Michael Guandalini - Immediate Past President
Dr Michael Guandalini is a General and Paediatric Radiologist working at Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH) and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH). He completed his registrar training at RBWH and subsequently undertook a fellowship year at Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.
He has a special interest in Paediatric Interventional Radiology and is a member of the Vascular Anomalies Service in Queensland. Michael is actively involved in collaborative neonatal renal development research between RBWH, QCH and University of Queensland and is a reviewer for JMIRO.
Dr Ajay Taranath
Dr. Taranath is a senior Pediatric Neuroradiologist at The Women's and Children's Hospital, Adelaide. He completed his fellowship training in Pediatric Radiology at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Australia from 2003-2004 and in Pediatric Neuroradiology Fetal Imaging at The Hospital for Sick Children, Canada from 2009-2010. He is a fellow of The RANZCR and a member of The ANZSNR, AOSPR, and ISPR.
Dr Taranath's research interests include abnormalities of the corpus callosum, cranial vault, and tubulinopathies.
Dr Murthy Chennapragada
Dr S Murthy Chennapragada is a paediatric and interventional radiologist with the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (Westmead), NSW, Australia. He obtained his Paediatric radiology fellowship training at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead before completing a Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship at the University Health Network, University of Toronto, Canada. His main areas of interest are paediatric hepatobiliary imaging, paediatric transplant related imaging and interventions, and vascular paediatric IR. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), the Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR), the Asian and Oceanic Society for Paediatric Radiology (AOSPR) and is nominated to the Board of Directors for the Society of Paediatric Interventional Radiology (SPIR). He is a member of the RSNA Regional Committee for Asia/Oceania and is a section editor for Journal of Clinical and Interventional Radiology.
Dr Rebecca Linke
Rebecca is a Paediatric Radiologist working at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Adelaide. She completed her registrar training at Flinders Medical Centre and subsequently undertook a Fellowship in Paediatric and Women’s Imaging at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Breast Screen in Adelaide. Rebecca enjoys all aspects of Paediatric Imaging with a special interest in Forensic, MSK and Chest imaging.
Rebecca is SA Medical Imaging Campus Clinical Head at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Country sites and is also an Affiliate of the Adelaide University as a Senior Clinical Lecturer.
Dr Christopher Cassady
Dr. Cassady is a pediatric-fellowship trained radiologist working at Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, where he practices diagnostic and interventional radiology. Prior to his appointment in New Zealand, he was for nearly 20 years at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, where his roles included Chief of Fetal and Neonatal Imaging, Chief of Interventional Radiology, and Medical Director for Vascular Access. He has recently served as the President and Board Chair of the Society for Pediatric Radiology. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles on fetal imaging and neonatal outcomes, particularly related to fetal neck, chest and abdominal pathologies.
Dr John Joesph
Dr Joseph is a general and Pediatric Radiologist working at Queensland Townsville University Hospital. He completed his paediatric Fellowship from Royal childrens Hospital Melbourne. Dr Joseph enjoys all aspects of paediatric imaging with a special interest in Fetal and paediatric Musculoskeletal radiology. He is a fellow of the RANZCR and member of the ISPR.
