Dr Michael Guandalini is a General and Paediatric Radiologist working at Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH) and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH). He completed his registrar training at RBWH and subsequently undertook a fellowship year at Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.

He has a special interest in Paediatric Interventional Radiology and is a member of the Vascular Anomalies Service in Queensland. Michael is actively involved in collaborative neonatal renal development research between RBWH, QCH and University of Queensland and is a reviewer for JMIRO.

profile BirdDr Helen Bird – Secretary

Helen is a Paediatric Radiologist working at Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. She undertook her radiology training in Auckland before heading to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne for Fellowship training.

The lure of Melbourne was too great, and she stayed there as a Consultant for two further years before returning home to New Zealand and Starship Hospital to be closer to family in 2011. Helen enjoys all aspects of Paediatric imaging, with a special interest in Fetal imaging. She is an examiner for the College in Paediatrics.


Dr Ajay Taranath

Dr. Taranath is a senior Pediatric Neuroradiologist at The Women's and Children's Hospital, Adelaide. He completed his fellowship training in Pediatric Radiology at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Australia from 2003-2004 and in Pediatric Neuroradiology Fetal Imaging at The Hospital for Sick Children, Canada from 2009-2010. He is a fellow of The RANZCR and a member of The ANZSNR, AOSPR, and ISPR.

 Dr Taranath's research interests include abnormalities of the corpus callosum, cranial vault, and tubulinopathies.

Dr S Murthy Chennapragada is a paediatric and interventional radiologist with the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (Westmead), NSW, Australia. He obtained his Paediatric radiology fellowship training at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead before completing a Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship at the University Health Network, University of Toronto, Canada. His main areas of interest are paediatric hepatobiliary imaging, paediatric transplant related imaging and interventions, and vascular paediatric IR. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), the Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR), the Asian and Oceanic Society for Paediatric Radiology (AOSPR) and is nominated to the Board of Directors for the Society of Paediatric Interventional Radiology (SPIR). He is a member of the RSNA Regional Committee for Asia/Oceania and is a section editor for Journal of Clinical and Interventional Radiology.

Rebecca is a Paediatric Radiologist working at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Adelaide. She completed her registrar training at Flinders Medical Centre and subsequently undertook a Fellowship in Paediatric and Women’s Imaging at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Breast Screen in Adelaide. Rebecca enjoys all aspects of Paediatric Imaging with a special interest in Forensic, MSK and Chest imaging.

Rebecca is SA Medical Imaging Campus Clinical Head at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Country sites and is also an Affiliate of the Adelaide University as a Senior Clinical Lecturer.
